New Fingerprint Requirement for Visa Applications
The Visa Application Centre of the People's Republic of China has announced a change in the visa application process for China in Germany.
Effective immediately, all visa applicants are once again required to submit fingerprints when applying. This rule applies to all consulate locations in Germany.
Exceptions to this Requirement
Individuals under 14 years old and over 70 years old.
Holders of diplomatic passports or those exempt under bilateral agreements.
Applicants who have previously applied for a Chinese visa with the same passport and whose fingerprints were taken within the last five years. In this case, they must present the biometric visa issued in the same passport.
Individuals with finger restrictions or those unable to provide fingerprints from all ten fingers for other reasons.
Important Information for Applicants
All applicants must appear in person at the Visa Application Service Centre for fingerprint collection.
All locations in Germany currently have reduced opening hours, so appointments must be scheduled in advance for fingerprinting.
A COVID-19 vaccination certificate / EU digital vaccination certificate is required at all locations. This document must be submitted in advance to the responsible Visa Application Centre for verification.
